• Coaching pupils for concert performances and school events
• Supporting and developing pupils aiming for music scholarships
• Maintaining strong, professional communication with parents
Teaching Arrangements (Self-Employed)
• Lessons are contracted directly with parents
• Teachers currently charge £54 per hour, with a planned increase from September 2026.
• Teaching allocation is currently 1–2 days per week, depending on pupil sign-ups each September
Employed Chamber & Ensemble Work
In addition to individual teaching, the role includes 2 hours 25 minutes of employed work, which involves:
• Coaching string chamber ensembles
• Supporting school string groups and orchestras
• Assisting with rehearsals and ensemble preparation across the department
This employed element comes with staff benefits, and the rate from September 2026 is £58.45.
Availability
