The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for boys situated on the banks of the beautiful Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The Southport School (TSS) has been established for over 120 years and is committed to providing excellence in learning and teaching, pastoral care, service and extra-curricular endeavours within a balanced, holistic Christian environment. The School has a vibrant boarding, academic, cultural and sporting program that extends across the full year and two campuses.
Our music faculty is located in our state-of-the-art Annand Theatre by the river, and the team is passionate about bringing music and the love of music into the lives of our 1000 strong student cohort.
The school is seeking candidates for a short-term (term one) full-time Teacher of Music (Senior Campus) whilst the incumbent takes a period of leave.
We are keen to hear from candidates who love to inspire students through their own love of music and who have the ability to engage students through their relational style of teaching and their innovative teaching and student engagement practices. Ideally candidates will have experience in delivering the senior music curriculum and instrumental and/or choral experience would be considered advantageous.
All candidates must be willing to comply with the Code of Conduct and the Christian Ethos of the School and must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate professional boundaries and standards when working with children and young people. Applicants will be asked to provide a recent national criminal history check certificate.
