Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated experience or ability to acquire experience in the correct procedures of specimen collection/phlebotomy including canulation and the application of established policies and guidelines with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of the importance of standard precautions in dealing with patients and biological specimens.
Proven ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal supervision after careful instruction.
Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to communicate effectively with clients, clinical staff and colleagues.
Positive focus upon patient care within a hospital health care environment.
Demonstrate a high level of commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
Demonstrate data entry skills with the ability to work accurately and give attention to detail.
Experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pre-analytical process in a large and complex specimen reception unit.
