This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the operating room. You will manage and develop departmental staff, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care, and utilize the nursing process to ensure the highest standards of care.
Shift: Split/Evening Shift
Staffing: Overseeing a team of 67, including RN’s, Techs, and Coordinators, with responsibilities covering neuro, plastics, ortho, and ENT service lines.
Preferred: Previous experience in the operating room and nursing leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program, or documented degree plan with a timeframe to complete.
• For clinical manager positions in Magnet-designated hospitals, a BSN is required at the time of hire or promotion.
Licenses/Certifications:
• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license for professional nursing.
• Certification in Basic Life Support.
• Professional certification in clinical area or management preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
• At least three (3) years of clinical experience and a minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory or management role.
• For Clinical Manager II: An additional two (2) years of supervisory or management experience (for a total of three (3) years).
Principal Accountabilities
• Manage the daily operations of the patient care department, ensuring adequate staffing, planning for continuity of care, and providing direct patient care as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, management teams, business partners, and customers to address strategic initiatives and organizational goals.
• Evaluate programs and processes continuously, focusing on client-centered and organizational outcomes.
• Consider the diverse needs of each patient, ensuring top service standards and an optimized patient experience.
• Schedule and staff adequately, recruit and retain talent, provide performance feedback, and assist in staff performance reviews.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and Texas Board of Nursing guidelines.
• Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors, complying with all policies and budgetary specifications.
• Promote professional development through continuous education and support departmental goals for organizational success.
• Demonstrate a commitment to creating compassionate and personalized experiences for every community member.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
