Clinical Nurse Specialist Child Continence - Permanent part time.
This role is to provide coordination and specialist nursing knowledge to support and enhance care and continence consumable services to children and their families in the community

About the Role
This role is a senior nursing role, and its purpose is to provide expert specialist nursing knowledge and support to public health nurses working with children and families where there are enuresis, constipation and encopresis concerns. The role is also responsible for the oversight of clients referred for continence consumables. Knowledge of a range consumable products or the ability to acquire the knowledge is expected to be effective in this role.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is expected to work closely with the Public Health Nurse team and Specialty Clinical Nurses Paediatric Community
Public Health Nurses receive referrals from referrers including general practitioners, paediatricians, schools, and families for concerns regarding a range of continence concerns. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager, Public Health Nursing to support nursing staff to provide effective care to clients. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is expected to have current expert knowledge, be able to support complex care planning, provide education on treatment options, advocate for clients and support the referral to paediatricians for assessment, as appropriate.
In addition, the Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide oversight of assessment and care given to clients referred to the Specialty Clinical Nurses Paediatric Community for continence consumables.
About you
This is a part time role, working 0.2 FTE. Due to the small FTE, you will need to also be employed in another role at Health New Zealand (this is not a stand-alone role)
The role is best suited to an experienced registered nurse with paediatric and or community nursing experience.
Key skills to be successful in this role include proven time management ability, development of strong systems and processes, the technical skills to develop quality resources to share with children and families and an ability/desire to support nurses to provide effective and efficient health care to achieve desired results.
