Our main sites are Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital and Manukau Health Park.

We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealands national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.


About the role:

Our integrated locality-based services, based in Highland Park, provide specialist mental health care for those with serious mental health problems and provide consultation and liaison with primary care partners for those with mild to moderate concerns.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced clinician to join us as a Clinical Team Coordinator. The focus of this position is to promote effective service user care, ensure appropriate resources are available to support clinicians to work at the top of their scope of practice.

You will be required to work alongside the Team Manager to provide leadership, co-ordination and day to day oversight of clinical service delivery with the team. This will include acting as a clinical resource to the team including coaching, mentoring and facilitating evidence based best practice and ensuring new staffs receive a robust orientation. You will also participate in performance reviews and contribute to professional development processes for the teams multidisciplinary staff. You will take an active role in auditing and quality initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

Provide clinical leadership and coordination across the multi-disciplinary team.
Act as a clinical resource and mentor, supporting caseload management and professional development.
Ensure the safe, effective delivery of evidence-based, recovery-focused care.
Actively participate in and contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and service planning.
Support recruitment, retention, and ongoing workforce development.
Promote and uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and deliver services that advance equity for Māori, Pacific, and other priority populations.

Salaries are based on the PSA Mental Health & Public Health Nursing Collective Agreement, Registered Nurse Scale.

Essential requirements

NZ Registered Mental Health Nurse
Current Annual Practicing Certificate
Minimum of 5 years post registration experience in Mental Health with some of this being within a community mental health team
Full, NZ drivers licence with no limitations
