Job Description
This role requires working at our Phoenix Home Office located at 123 PetSmart Way, Phoenix, AZ. As a valued member of our team, you will work collaboratively in a hybrid environment, primarily in the office four days a week, with the flexibility of one remote work day each week (upon leader approval).
We are seeking a Cloud Solutions Engineer with 2-3 years of experience to help design, deploy, and support our cloud services. You will collaborate closely with cloud architects and senior engineers, focusing on implementing and automating cloud solutions, building reusable infrastructure, optimizing performance, and maintaining our cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and maintain robust infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Support, troubleshoot, and operate containerized workloads on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Monitor system health and performance using tools like Cloud Monitoring, Logging, and alerting.
• Address production issues and contribute to post-incident reviews.
• Maintain networking, IAM, and security configurations according to GCP best practices.
• Provide operational support for large-scale distributed applications, including participating in on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with application, data, and platform teams to deliver efficient cloud solutions.
• Engage in FinOps initiatives focusing on cloud cost optimization and resource governance.
• Continuously improve GCP practices for security, reliability, and performance.
Required Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of professional experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud or Azure.
• Experience in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with IaC, CI/CD tools (Terraform, Jenkins/CloudBees, GitHub Actions).
• Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (VPC, DNS, load balancing).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.
• Good grasp of cloud fundamentals including IAM, RBAC, SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Stackdriver/Google Cloud Operations).
Preferred Qualifications:
• GCP Cloud certifications.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
