Enbridge Gas Ohio is looking to hire a C&M Helper for our Lima location. This role requires performing duties of increasing skill as part of a crew related to the distribution of gas. In addition, the C&M Helper will work under the leadership of higher C&M classifications and/or a supervisor while assisting higher classifications in the performance of their duties.

Here’s What You Will Do
• Perform physical assignments, such as excavating, breaking, back-filling and utilizing all C&M hand tools including paving breakers, tampers, hand spades, tapping tools, driving crew trucks and light equipment (i.e. dump truck, vac truck, etc.), performs fusions on all diameters of plastic pipe.
• Perform curb box and cathodic protection work as directed utilizing curb box and pipe locating equipment, pipe to soil meter, and other equipment as directed. Learns to perform survey work with approved instruments and classifies and reports leaks according to the Company S.O.P.
• Perform routine maintenance and service on gas detection equipment, operates the dew point hygrometer.
• Complete necessary documents (individual paperwork only) within the Helper classification.
• Operate earth-moving equipment mounted on transportation vehicles or on tractors.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance such as checking fuel, oil, water, and hydraulic fluid levels.
Who You Are
You have:
• A High School Diploma OR GED.
• Must have minimum of Class A Commercial Learner’s Permit at time of Interview and obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License and all applicable endorsements/restrictions (automatic, pintle hook, air brakes) before the end of the newly hired employee's 6-month probation period.
• The probation period begins the first day of employment. Failure to do so, will result in termination.
• Must pass the C&M physical test and must be physically capable of performing strenuous physical work.
• Must pass required Operator Qualification (OQ) training and maintain all required Operator Qualifications (OQ) for the C&M Helper position.
• A mechanical aptitude to work with tools and equipment.
You Are
• Willing to work shifts and have a good attendance and work record.
• Willing to work overtime, including the responsibility to be reasonably available for emergency callouts.
Working Conditions
• Office Work Environment up to 25%.
• Travel up to 25%.
Physical Requirements Include But Are Not Limited To
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:
Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
