Job Description
The platform is built. The engine is primed. Now, we are looking for a COO to take the keys, launch the Canadian market, and transform this technical foundation into a market-dominant force.
The Role
This is not a traditional executive hire; this is a founding partnership for a high-stakes "zero-to-one" launch. As the COO, you will own the entire go-to-market (GTM) strategy and operational execution. While the technical team continues to ship at elite speeds, you will be the face and the force of the business—driving the first wave of revenue, architecting the growth trajectory, and establishing VestiFunding as the gold standard in the Canadian funding ecosystem.
We are looking for a builder with a hustle mindset who thrives in the early-stage grind and possesses the grit required to take a pre-operational product to market and ensure its absolute success.
What You’ll Do
Go-To-Market Leadership: Design and execute the official launch strategy for the Canadian market, transitioning the platform from "ready" to "operational."
Drive Revenue & Growth: Lead the charge on aggressive outbound sales, from identifying high-value leads to closing and onboarding the platform’s first flagship clients.
Strategic Partnerships: Build and manage a high-impact network of accounting firms, financial advisors, and lenders across Ontario to create a steady referral pipeline.
Ecosystem Integration: Act as the primary liaison to embed VestiFunding into the Canadian funding landscape, forging ties with the BDC, CPA Ontario, Chambers of Commerce, and regional innovation hubs.
Scale the Business: Own the full P&L and long-term growth strategy, ensuring the business is operationally sound and financially optimized.
Team Architecture: Recruit, hire, and lead the foundational Canadian operations and sales teams as the business gains momentum.
Product Evolution: Provide critical market feedback to the technical founding team to refine pricing models, market positioning, and feature roadmaps based on real-world user data.
Must Have (Non-Negotiable)
Startup DNA: experience in a startup, growth-stage, or high-velocity entrepreneurial environment. You know how to build when there is no existing playbook.
The Hustle: A proven "hands-on operator" mentality. You are comfortable running sales demos in the morning, negotiating partnership legalities in the afternoon, and interviewing new hires in the evening.
Revenue Track Record: A documented history of closing deals, building sales pipelines from scratch, and growing a book of business in a B2B environment.
Execution Focus: The rare ability to take a technical product and translate it into a compelling commercial value proposition.
Local Presence: An existing professional network or presence within Ontario’s financial services, startup, or accounting ecosystems.
Nice to Have
Industry Insight: Experience navigating Canadian grant programs (SR&ED, IRAP, CanExport) or working within commercial lending/grant advisory.
Fintech Scaling: Previous experience scaling a B2B SaaS or fintech platform from launch to significant ARR.
Professional Network: Existing relationships with CPA firms, Business lenders, or business funding consultants.
Bilingualism: Fluency in English and French to facilitate a future expansion into the Quebec market.
What Is Offered
Founding Member Status: A true partnership where you are treated as a peer and a primary stakeholder.
Meaningful Equity: A significant ownership stake—we want you to build this as if it were entirely your own.
Revenue Share: Direct, uncapped financial upside tied to the growth milestones you achieve.
Total Autonomy: The freedom to architect and scale the Canadian operations without bureaucratic oversight.
Elite Technical Support: Direct collaboration with a technical founding team that ships stable, high-quality code at elite speeds.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
