Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive coding curriculum for students of varying ages and skill levels, incorporating coding languages such as Python, Java, Scratch, or others, as well as computational thinking concepts.
Instruction: Deliver effective coding instruction through hands-on activities, projects, and challenges, guiding students through the process of problem-solving, debugging, and code optimization.
Assessment: Assess student progress and proficiency in coding through coding exercises, projects, and assessments, providing constructive feedback to students to support their learning and growth.
Technology Integration: Utilize educational technology tools, coding platforms, and software applications effectively to enhance coding instruction and provide students with opportunities for collaborative coding experiences.
Creativity and Innovation: Encourage creativity, innovation, and experimentation in coding projects, empowering students to explore their interests and develop their own unique coding solutions.
Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and industry partners to enhance the coding program, participate in professional development opportunities, and stay current with coding trends and best practices.
Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students' progress, achievements, and opportunities for further development in coding.
Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to coding instruction, with clear expectations for behavior, participation, and academic excellence.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Strong proficiency in coding languages such as Python, Java, Scratch, or others, as well as computational thinking concepts.
Prior teaching or tutoring experience in coding, computer science, or STEM education.
Experience working with students of varying ages and skill levels, from elementary to high school.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Passion for technology, coding, and inspiring the next generation of coders and innovators.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
