Greetings to the many authorities, voices, and experts of the world.

This role is focused on supporting both physical and digital access to archival records. Youâll handle reference services, manage delivery workflows, support inter-agency access, and help improve services for all users. Youâll also play a leadership role within the team by mentoring others, handling complex access issues, and stepping in for the Team Leader when needed.

Weâre seeking a motivated and detail-focused archives professional with:
Experience working in archives, libraries or records environments, particularly within a government or heritage setting
Strong understanding of archival access principles, including privacy, copyright, and security considerations
Familiarity with systems like Collections Search, and comfort navigating digital access and preservation issues
Experience providing reference services to a wide range of users including the public, researchers, iwi, and government agencies
Proven ability to manage service workflows, troubleshoot issues and improve processes
Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga MÄori, and a commitment to improving access to MÄtauranga MÄori
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across teams
Youâll be someone who enjoys helping people access knowledge and is passionate about making public records accessible, discoverable and well managed.
