About the role:


We are seeking a Commercial Analyst to support the execution and development of Origin’s commercial strategy, including price setting, customer lifetime value, commercial analysis, and tender submissions.

You will work closely with multiple stakeholders to drive optimal outcomes for our retail gas and electricity portfolios while ensuring a positive customer experience.

The role requires strong analytical and technical skills, with proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Tableau, and a solid understanding of electricity and gas markets, regulatory frameworks, and commercial principles.

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop and maintain pricing models to support tariff setting, scenario analysis, and margin optimisation
Perform quantitative analysis on electricity and gas pricing to inform commercial and strategic decisions
Own and optimise customer retention strategy through predictive modelling and performance tracking
Monitor market, competitor, and regulatory changes, translating insights into clear business actions
Support tender submissions and sales initiatives with competitive pricing and margin assessments
Provide commercial insights and strategic advice to stakeholders, including input into business cases and executive decision-making

About you

You are a commercially minded Analyst who combines analytical rigor and clear communication to drive value and outcomes across the business.

Proven experience in energy or a similar industry, with exposure to pricing or commercial analysis
Strong numerical and analytical capability, with advanced financial modelling skills
Technical proficiency in Excel, SQL and Tableau to manipulate data and generate insights
Ability to solve complex problems and translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations
A proactive mindset with the ability to drive processes forward and manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels
