Job Description
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards.
Assist in developing and implementing new menu items and recipes.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food products to maintain freshness and quality.
Maintain a clean and organized work station, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth operation during service hours.
Assist in monitoring food stock levels and notify the supervisor of any shortages or discrepancies.
Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize waste and control costs.
Follow the resort's standard recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency.
Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff members.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with colleagues and other resort staff.
Requirements:
Culinary degree or relevant certification from a recognized institution.
Previous experience working as a Commi 1 Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a resort or hotel setting.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and cooking methods.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional dishes.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
