Position Summary:
This position will deliver ambitious computer science instruction that not only incorporates evidence-based analysis of practice in order to ensure that all students can achieve at high levels, but also provides a stimulating, challenging, and productive learning environment.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop curriculum for and teach computer science classes across divisions as required
• Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and the other staff members of the middle school's STEM Department to develop and maintain a cohesive curriculum sequence from grades 6-8Passionate about the difference between mastery of devices and in-depth knowledge about computers and computing
Position Qualifications:
Applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree in education and appropriate state licensure, and at least 2 years of experience teaching computer science in a K-12 environment. The applicant should also have proven program planning and development experience and be an excellent teacher of students, reflective and receptive to professional feedback and coaching, and possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Pay Range: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00
The included pay rate or range represents the University of Chicago Charter School's good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting. The salary will be commensurate of years of teaching experience and education.
