Construction Accountant
Birmingham, Alabama
$55,000 - $65,000
Our client, who takes pride in their commitment to excellence in real estate development and investment, is currently seeking a skilled Construction Accountant to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success. As a Construction Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of their commercial construction projects. You will be responsible for handling loan draws, bank reconciliations, payment applications, and other key financial activities. Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process loan draws to ensure timely and accurate funding of construction projects
• Conduct bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies
• Manage payment applications, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to project timelines
• Monitor and report on project budgets, costs, and financial performance
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and accountability
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field (Accounting degree preferred)
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
