As a Contract Accountant / Auditor, you will lead the end-to-end technical delivery of auditing, financial reporting, and accounting services to a high standard.
This fully remote position offers flexible working hours between +am to 5pm New Zealand time, allowing you to work from anywhere globally without commute times.
You will have the opportunity to gain experience with various accounting and assurance services, including communicating insightful analysis, preparing tax returns, contributing to continuous improvement, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
• Communicate complex financial information simply to non-financial stakeholders
• Prepare a variety of tax returns for diverse client portfolios
• Compile annual and periodic financial statements
• Conduct corporate finance and valuations for businesses
• Coding and reconciliation of transactions in Xero
• Auditing year-end financial statements
• Automating or simplifying processes
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in an accounting / auditor role at a CPA / CA firm
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Presentation skills for financial information
• Experience working with clients in consulting firms or corporate settings
• High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices
• Remote work experience with modern collaboration tools
• Strong technical accounting skills, including IFRS and ISAs
• Quick learner with good problem-solving skills
• Audit, review, and financial reporting experience
• Resilience and professional working style
• Excellent project management skills
Advantageous:
• Understanding of New Zealand tax, payroll, and relevant laws
• Corporate finance and business valuations experience
• Big 4 experience is a significant advantage
• Relevant tertiary or accounting qualifications
• Member of CPA Australia
