Job Description

Job Responsibilities
You will be part of the Control Management team, in the Business Operations Executive function, which includes responsibility for risk and control management in the 1st line of defence.
Build and cultivate a culture focused on partnership, collaboration and transparency with the product teams, and other lines of defence.
Ability to analyse digital solutions to identify risks and issues, while balancing the overall strategic priorities and maintaining a focus on customer experience.
Ensure risk impacting the business is effectively quantified, communicated and managed, including recommendations for resolution and identifying the root cause/key themes.
Maintain strong communication and a commercial acumen, to be able to quantify and articulate the risk vs reward for the business
Partner to identify optimal outcomes, developing creative solutions to manage risk and improve the customer experience. Ensuring that controls are properly designed, sustainable and operating effectively.
Be a proactive, independent advisor and thought leader for the assigned business. Serving as a subject matter expert and point of escalation for meeting control obligations.
Partner with Third Party Oversight teams to ensure effective risk management of vendors engaged by business teams.
Implement the control framework for data risk management and ensure that data controls become a natural part of the product development lifecycle.
Develop industry and technical expertise and be positioned as a subject matter expert in data management, GDPR, data privacy and model governance.
Help to advise and educate partners on identifying risks and designing effective controls, to deliver innovative digital experiences within risk appetite.

Required Qualification,Skills & Capabilities
Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Solid critical thinking and analysis in technical scenarios, attention to detail and able to synthesize large amounts of data and formulate creative and innovative solutions to complex problems.
A knowledge of data risk management (governance, protection, classification, retention, destruction, data use)
Demonstrable experience and knowledge in Operational risks and controls.
Experience working in financial services or a highly regulated industry
Understanding of control and risk management concepts with the ability to evaluate adequacy of the business control environment
Able to think about a problem from first principles, taking innovative approaches to address user needs.
Able to work effectively in highly agile environments, delivering value whilst dealing with high degrees of uncertainty and continuous change. Comfortable working with modern collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Teams etc.
Communication/presentation - excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to articulate risk and mitigation strategies to business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner
Networking -interpersonal skills; exceptional collaboration, openness and relationship building skills
