A great UHY client is seeking a Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance roles (with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity), strong technical proficiency in financial reporting, GAAP, and accounting principles, and experience in Manufacturing.
The Controller role is an onsite position. This is a client direct hire position.
Controller Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
• Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting standards.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
• Process payroll for specific plants
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor banking activities and optimize cash balances to maximize returns.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors to develop tax strategies and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate annual audits and reviews, including the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Controller Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years experience in a supervisory role.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
• Experience working in Manufacturing or a similar industry preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS is a plus).
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
