Job Summary/Basic Function:
Manages critical aspects of the 2026 Teachers College Convocation events under the supervision of the College Events department beginning Monday, March 16th, 2026, through Friday, May 22nd, 2026.
Hours are typically: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m., with some exceptions where later evenings are required. Closer to the event date, there will be more occasions for later hours and some weekend work. Extended hours from May 17th to May 20th, 2026.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate faculty, staff, and student email, phone, and in-person communication.
Manage faculty, alumni, and VIP registration and coordinate order and distribution of academic attire.
Coordinate and track student online registration in coordination with the Registrar’s Office and Doctoral Studies’ offices.
Provide pre-production support, including meeting coordination and support, ticket production, and distribution of collateral materials.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date lists of participants in each ceremony.
Manage, in coordination with Facilities, pre-and post-event packing.
Assist with post-event wrap-up.
Coordinate and staff the Convocation Information Desk & maintain supplies.
Work on a sub-team that directs event load in and load out of all supplies, including managing a satellite office.
Ran the academic attire distribution center for select graduates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be able to lift at least 25lbs
Well-versed in Excel
Strong customer service and written communication skills
Can-do attitude, highly organized, and detail-oriented
Salary Range:
$25 - $28/hour
