Location: Irvington, New Jersey
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Part-Time Cook with experience cooking for large groups to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for an adult mental health program. The ideal candidate must be familiar with the New Jersey Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and have experience in meal planning and preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve two full meals (breakfast and lunch) and two snacks daily in compliance with CACFP nutrition standards.
Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring a clean and organized kitchen.
Plan menus that meet dietary and nutritional requirements for adult mental health participants.
Maintain inventory and order necessary food supplies while adhering to budget guidelines.
Accommodate special dietary needs and food allergies as required.
Work collaboratively with program staff to ensure meal schedules are followed.
Complete required documentation and reporting for CACFP compliance.
Qualifications:
Experience as a cook in a healthcare, mental health, or institutional setting preferred.
Knowledge of CACFP meal requirements and ability to plan meals accordingly.
ServSafe certification or ability to obtain one.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Ability to lift and carry food supplies (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
Schedule:
Part-time position; specific hours to be determined based on program needs.
Compensation:
$16.00/hr
