Position: Maintenane Aide, Casual, 8am-4pm
Reports to the Environmental Services Manager

Southbridge Care Homes is looking for Maintenance Aide who can functions as a “resident advocate” for our London, ON location. On a daily basis, the Maintenance Aide will be responsible for specific operations related to mechanical, electrical and maintenance departments. Our Maintenance Aide will be the first point of contact from the management side for our client’s side for any concerns related to the facilities of the home.
As a Maintenance Aide, you will be accountable for…
• Provide support in the maintenance department, painting operations of the home, general upkeep, as well as making sure everything is as per the company standards.
• Assist with the property maintenance including exterior duties including snow removal property lightning, garbage, and other general operations.
• Other duties as required.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
• Post-Secondary Certificate in Skill trades or related program or high level of experience.
• One year or more of experience in a similar position with working knowledge of electrical and mechanical home operations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Ability to multitask, time management and can work independently.
• Ability to prioritize work and must be able to work in fast paced environment.

Duties
• Meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
• Cooking Asian-style food, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.
• Organize and store food items properly to ensure freshness and compliance with food safety regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies and report shortages to the manager.
• Follow all food handling procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment.
• Support other staff as needed during busy service periods.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Mandarin speaker preferred.
• A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn new skills in meal preparation and cooking techniques.
