Position Name: Coordinator of Volunteers
Terms: Paid Position
Reports to: Support Services Director
Works with: Ministers,Office Administrators, Music Director, Elders, Committees, Teams, Pastoral Care Deacons and Visitors, Congregation, Community
Hours: This is a part time commitment of about 16 hours per week
ROLE SUMMARY:
Oversee and improve the systems to engage and equip over 200 volunteers in the work and mission of Grace, networking with ministry/program leaders, other volunteers, and staff
Needs assessments
Role descriptions, including risk assessments
Recruitment and screening
Orientation and training
Performance management
Regular evaluation of the overall system
Policies, procedures, records management and tools to achieve the above
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting program coordinators, addressing potential conflicts
Recruitment tools: website, bulletin, external websites
Gifts and skills inventory
Standardized training system
Database and scheduling tool
Weekly and annual recognition
Gratitude & Giving Committee staff resource
General Leading with Care support
Recruiting Committee members/convenors
Coordinating volunteers for ad hoc committees or events, as needed
Attending Wednesday staff meetings and most Sunday mornings
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Proven volunteer management experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Capable in use of Microsoft and other computer tools
Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and professionalism
Leading with Care compliant
Committed to the mission and values of Grace Presbyterian Church
Legally able to work in Canada
OTHER:
Free parking at the church is provided

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 per week
