Velocity One, through its subsidiaries, designs, manufactures, and supports a wide range of products for the aerospace and defense markets. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our accounting team. Velocity One is the parent company of Emcore LLC.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Corporate Accountant – Consolidation & FP&A will support the parent company’s accounting close, intercompany eliminations, and internal reporting processes. This role will also assist in compiling financial data for planning and forecasting, maintaining the financial reporting calendar and evaluating M&A opportunities. The ideal candidate has exceptional analytical ability, is highly organized, can keep commitments, and is eager to grow in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. This role is on site.

The qualified candidate will be working directly with the Corporate Controller and the CFO and will be exposed to various aspects of financial management. Velocity One’s office is in Hoboken, NJ, one block away from the PATH station with Manhattan views.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Consolidation
Prepare and post parent company journal entries.
Assist with monthly consolidation of P&L and balance sheets across multiple entities.
Help identify and book intercompany eliminations and adjustments.
Support balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
Assist with preparation of internal reporting packages.
FP&A & Reporting Support
Gather and compile borrowing base calculations from subsidiary companies.
Assist with the development and tracking of consolidated budgets and forecasts.
Support variance analysis and commentary for actuals vs. forecast.
Maintain and update the internal reporting calendar, ensuring timely submission of deliverables.
Other Duties
Collaborate cross-functionally with finance teams at subsidiary entities.
Help evaluate M&A opportunities and support diligence efforts.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline consolidation and reporting.
Support external audit and lender reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2–4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
Strong understanding of US GAAP.
Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.).
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
Top tier accounting firm, investment banking or private equity experience.
Experience with Infor Syteline or other ERP systems.
Exposure to multi-entity consolidation or intercompany transactions.
Familiarity with borrowing base reporting or corporate cash forecasting.
Interest in the aerospace and defense industry.
