Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
3+ years of accounting experience, preferably including standard costing
Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and general accounting procedures; familiarity with chart of accounts structure; aptitude for working with numbers
Cycle count and inventory valuation experience
Excel skills must be at least intermediate, including tables, pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas and functions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to appropriately prioritize tasks; strong organizational skills; high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Perform routine job functions without supervision

Responsibilities
The position provides recommendations to senior management in support of the achievement of the company’s goals
This individual will reside in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area, and will report into our Westminster office in person a least 2 days per week
Perform month end close activities related to Cost Accounting
Prepare actual vs. plan (budget) analysis
Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information for various internal customers as needed for decision making support
Maintain and execute periodic cost roll updates
Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation
Monitor cycle count process throughout the month, review and approve variances and ensure appropriate controls around the cycle count process
Lead and manage the monthly excess and obsolete inventory review process
Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing
Analyze the applicable general ledger to assure balance sheet accounts are fairly represented
Complete and maintain account reconciliations on a monthly basis
Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls
Represent Finance/Accounting on teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs, etc
Manage GR/IR variances on a weekly basis and resolve all items that are over 30 days outstanding
Review of account coding on invoices, journal entries and other documents for accuracy, making corrections when necessary
Demonstrate understanding of organizational structure and core businesses of the company and industry
Perform year-end close procedures and support the annual internal and external audit; prepare and provide audit support including PBC Schedules, roll-forwards, and analytical worksheets
Support the organization with ad hoc projects, and perform other duties as assigned

Your competence
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably including standard costing.
• Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and general accounting procedures; familiarity with chart of accounts structure; aptitude for working with numbers.
• Cycle count and inventory valuation experience.
• Competency in accounting software use, SAP experience a plus, and MS Office.
• Excel skills must be at least intermediate, including tables, pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas and functions.
