Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and dependable Cost Accountant to support the leadership in strategic decision-making by providing sharp insights into cost structures, margin analysis, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and analyze costing reports, product profitability, and variance analyses across plants, business units and various departments.
- Monitor standard costing, overhead allocations, and BOM accuracy; investigate anomalies and recommend corrective actions.
- Drive monthly cost audits and support cost control initiatives.
- Collaborate with production, supply chain, and procurement to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Generate periodic MIS reports and dashboards for the review - focusing on material cost trends, capacity utilization, and budget adherence.
- Assist in strategic pricing decisions by providing unit cost comparisons and margin insights.
- Support in capital expenditure planning, feasibility report, cost-benefits analysis report, ROI calculations, and post-implementation reviews through regular monitoring.
- Play a key role in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, with a cost and efficiency lens.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and ensure adherence to audit standards.
- Provide real-time, data-backed inputs for board presentations and business reviews, use of state of art tools like AI,BI etc.
Ideal Candidate
- Finance is a must with CA/ CMA.
- 6-8 years of experience with strong grasp of costing principles and working with operational data.
- Proficient in Excel, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and financial modelling
- High attention to detail, strong business acumen, and a proactive mind-set
- Ability to work closely with senior leadership and communicate financial insights in a clear, actionable manner.
