Job Summary: As a Cost Engineer specializing in HVAC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of HVAC projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to estimate, monitor, and control project costs. Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Estimation: Collaborate with project teams to develop accurate cost estimates for HVAC projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead expenses.
• Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget. Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose cost-effective alternatives when necessary.
• Change Order Management: Evaluate and process change orders, ensuring they are properly documented, priced, and approved. Assess the impact of changes on project costs.
• Vendor and Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate with HVAC equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Cost Reporting: Generate regular cost reports and updates for project stakeholders, including management, highlighting key cost trends, risks, and deviations from the budget.
• Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
• Contract Compliance: Ensure compliance with contract requirements related to costs and financial reporting.
