Cover Teacher Wanted in Greenwich

Location: Greenwich, London
Pay Rate: £110 to £220 per day
Academics is currently seeking dedicated and experienced Cover Teachers to work across secondary schools in the Greenwich area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about education to support teaching teams by ensuring continuity in the classroom.
About The Role
As a Cover Teacher, you will step in to manage classrooms during teacher absences, delivering pre-set lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment. You'll supervise students, manage behaviour, and ensure that assigned tasks are completed, playing a vital role in maintaining standards and student progress.
Key Responsibilities
• Classroom Management: Supervise students during teacher absences, ensuring they stay on task with pre-planned lessons.
• Behaviour Management: Effectively manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.
• Key Stages: Work across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, adapting to various subject areas.
• Student Support: Assist pupils with their tasks and answer questions to help them stay engaged and productive.
• Feedback & Reporting: Collect completed work, provide feedback on the lesson, and report any issues to the Head of Department.
• Safeguarding: Follow the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
About You
• Education: Must hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Chemistry, Maths, English, PE, Business Studies, etc.).
• Experience: Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or Cover Teacher in a UK secondary school is essential.
• DBS: Must have a valid DBS check (or be willing to obtain one).
• Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to different school settings and student needs.
