Position: Creative Fashion Designer – Stories To Stitch
Role Summary:
We are seeking a visionary Creative Fashion Designer to lead the design and development of narrative-driven fashion collections. The ideal candidate will use our lookbooks as inspiration to create trendsetting designs, manage end-to-end garment production, and collaborate with brands to deliver cohesive, market-ready collections.
Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
• Conceptualize and design fashion collections inspired by our lookbooks and storytelling themes.
• Create mood boards, sketches, and technical designs that align with the brand's vision.
• Experiment with materials, textures, and innovative design techniques to bring stories to life through fashion.
Production Oversight:
• Oversee sourcing of fabrics, trims, and materials to ensure quality and alignment with the collection's theme.
• Manage sampling, stitching, and prototype development, ensuring designs translate seamlessly from concept to reality.
• Conduct fittings and iterate on designs based on feedback to ensure perfect fits and functionality.
Collaboration & Innovation:
• Work closely with brands to align designs with their identity and target audience.
• Incorporate sustainability and innovative practices into design and production processes.
• Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to create visually compelling campaigns around the collections.
Trend & Market Research:
• Stay updated on fashion trends, emerging styles, and market demands.
• Innovate and propose new ideas for upcoming themes and lookbooks to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
• Degree in Fashion Design or a related field with 2+ years of experience in designing and producing fashion collections.
• Proficiency in design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CLO 3D.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and stitching techniques.
Creative Vision:
• Ability to translate abstract narratives into tangible designs.
• A portfolio showcasing innovative and story-driven designs, preferably with experience in thematic collections.
Production Experience:
• Hands-on experience in sourcing, sampling, and production processes.
• Familiarity with vendor management, fabric sourcing, and material quality assessment.
Collaboration & Communication:
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and external brand partners.
• Ability to adapt designs based on brand feedback and customer insights.
