Permanent Full Time | * day fortnight
$74,847 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super (level 6)
Please note, progression in remuneration (up to Level 8 - $79,143 pa inc. allowances + super) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured crew leader framework.
76 hour fortnight
Location: Burpengary - please note, this position will be moving to a Narangba location in the coming months.
Work within our Roads and Drains CCTV team as a Crew Leader and take a key role in ensuring our underground stormwater drainage network remains defect‑free and operating effectively. In this leadership position, you will oversee daily field operations while performing operational inspections on Council’s underground assets, with a strong focus on the stormwater network.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties:
Operate CCTV survey equipment to inspect Council’s underground assets
Identify infrastructure defects and required rectification works
Perform general labouring tasks as needed to support field operations
Manage the site’s traffic management setup
Team Leadership:
Supervise, guide and support your labourer in the field
Coordinate daily operations and allocate tasks effectively
Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with organisational procedures
Administrative and Digital Tasks:
Use digital tools (tablets, computers and software) to:
Create and update work orders
Review maintenance schedules
Identify required resources, materials and equipment
Contribute to accurate reporting and efficient workflow
Your leadership and technical skills will directly support the upkeep of our underground stormwater network, helping ensure the safety and reliability of essential community infrastructure.
About you
Ideally, you will have recent experience performing similar tasks related to stormwater infrastructure. We are seeking applicants who demonstrate:
Knowledge and physical capability to perform manual tasks safely
Experience working with stormwater or similar infrastructure (desirable)
Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset
Confidence in leading small teams and coordinating daily work activities
Mandatory Requirements:
Current truck licence (minimum MR – Medium Rigid)
Construction Induction Card
Current First Aid and CPR certificate
Confined Space Entry certification
Traffic Management Implementation qualification
