Auto Electrician – Welshpool, 6106, WA
Founder Enterprises Pty Ltd is looking for a qualified Auto Electrician to join our busy and well-established workshop in Welshpool. If you enjoy working on heavy vehicles and transport equipment, want consistent work, and are sick of being “just a number”, this role is for you.
As an Auto Electrician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of electrical and electronic systems in trucks, trailers, and other heavy vehicles. You will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain electrical wiring, control systems, and electronic components.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, test, and repair complex electrical and electronic faults in heavy-duty trucks including Mack, Kenworth, Volvo, and MAN prime movers and trailers
Troubleshoot and repair OEM electrical systems including engine management systems, ABS/EBS braking systems, transmission control systems, and body control modules
Perform advanced fault finding on CAN bus networks, ECUs, sensors, and multiplex wiring systems
Install, repair, and maintain alternators, starter motors, batteries, lighting systems, and heavy vehicle wiring looms
Diagnose and repair charging systems, starting systems, and power distribution faults
Install and configure truck accessories including telematics, GPS tracking systems, reverse cameras, UHF communications, and auxiliary lighting
Interpret manufacturer wiring schematics, service manuals, and technical service bulletins specific to Mack, Kenworth, Volvo, and MAN vehicles
Use OEM and aftermarket diagnostic scan tools to identify and rectify electronic faults
Conduct preventative electrical inspections to minimise vehicle downtime
Test and calibrate repaired components to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and road safety standards
Attend on-site breakdowns and roadside call-outs when required to support fleet customers
Qualifications and Experience
Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent trade qualification
Strong understanding of heavy vehicle electrical systems and diagnostic procedures
Experience working on heavy commercial vehicles, trailers, and transport equipment
Proficient in using diagnostic scan tools and electrical testing equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Must have valid work rights for Australia
