CSSD Quality Support. Role is located in the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) at Counties Manukau Health, Northern Regions of Health New Zealand. This role is a full time permanent position.
This position will be assisting with the implementation of quality initiatives, risk management and projects within CSSD.
This position will require that you prepare, review and maintain quality documents.

About the Role
As a CSSD Quality Support, you will be responsible for supporting CSSD staff in complying with relevant industry specific standards. You will assist in the maintenance and validation of all machinery in CSSD to deliver quality outputs and processes that in turn assist in providing quality outcomes for patients.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team of 58 staff members are employed to work at both Middlemore Hospital (MMH) and Manukau Health Park (MHP). CSSD operates 24/7 at MMH and at MHP the unit is open from 0700 hrs through to 2300hrs. We reprocess reusable medical devices or RMDs used in all operating theatres, clinics, modules and various other patient areas within the organisation. You will be a part of a strong team of individuals who will assist you and support you in your role as a CSSD Quality Support.
About you
As the CSSD Quality Support, your strengths will include a strong understanding of RMD processing standards and relevant sterile sciences practices. The ability to work collaboratively with all CSSD Staff and our customers. Proficient in MS application; MS Word, and MS Outlook. You will also have a strong commitment and genuine interest in quality improvement and service development will be an advantage for this role.
Assisting CSSD in compliance with the standard AS 5369: 2023 Reprocessing of reusable medical devices and other devices in health and non-health related facilities is a mandatory requirement.
Qualifications and experience we are looking for include the following:
At least five years experience working in a sterilising unit
Minimum Level 4 Sterilising Technology Course Certificate and a commitment to attain Level 5 Diploma in Sterilising Technology
Committed to attaining a qualification in Quality Assurance or equivalent
Up to date member of the New Zealand Sterile Sciences Association (NZSSA)
NZSSA Registration is achieved and maintained every 3 years
