Introduction to the Division /Function:

The Chemical Analysis Division provides our customers with a variety of products that help them keep themselves and the public safe. We help our customers improve the air quality we breathe, protect our first responders, and ensure the food we eat is safe. The business provides a diverse mix of analytical instruments and associated services to a broad range of end-user markets including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Energy, Mining, Life Science Manufacturing and Recycling.

As Gauging function, we have Online, non-contact thickness & coating weight measurement of flat sheet for applications like Steel hot, cold & process lines (single point, multi-point and profile), aluminum hot, cold, foil and sheet lines. Metallic coatings (zinc, tin, aluminum, many others), Non-metallic coatings (lacquer, paint, oils, and some others), Packaging, Film, Building materials, Insulation, Flooring – Carpet, Vinyl, Rubber, Roofing, Plastics / Rubber, Nonwovens, Solar, Composites, Battery Separator, Textiles. Using Technologies X-ray absorption (5 kV up to 225 kV) , Isotope absorption (Pm-147, Kr-85, Sr-90, Am-241, Cs-137) , Optical (laser) , X-ray, Beta-ray , X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) , Beta backscatter (Pr-147, Kr-85, Sr-90) , Optical (full spectrum infrared), Pin hole detector (UV based, for process lines).

Role Description/Position Summary :
• Field Service engineer role handling nucleonic Gauges
• Customer centric approach for Customer Allegiance
• Team player handling a region or customer base
• Business acumen to expand contract coverage

Responsibilities:
• Perform Installation, Commissioning, acceptance, maintenance & servicing of Nucleonic thickness gauge at customer sites.
• Remote customer support through phone, Team viewer etc.
• Handling radioactive & X-ray sources
• Service Job will involve mechanical adjustments / alignment of the frame, mounting & removal of radioactive sources, checking the performance parameters, measurement results and setting up of the process control parameters. Knowledge on Windows OS & PLC.
• Added advance on process knowledge of Cold, Hot & Plate Rolling Mills, Galvanizing / Galvalume / Galvaneal & Paint Coating.
• Trouble shooting Capabilities - Apply logical, analytical & technical diagnostic skills to resolve problems quickly. Root cause analysis with analytical skill.
• Knowledge of thickness measurement principles transmission, backscatter & Florescence.
• Inter personnel skills, soft spoken, can handle customers escalations.
• Cross functional collaboration support cross functional teams in achieving business objectives

Minimum Educational Qualification

BE / BTech in Instrumentation / Electronics etc

Experience in handling radioactive & X-ray sources.

Certificate on Radiation Safety Aspects of Nucleonic Gauges an added advantage from AERB.

Experience:
• At least 5-10 years of experience in operations, troubleshooting, servicing of non-contact type thickness measurement gauging equipment
• Work experience in handling, maintaining Nucleonic Gauges
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully interact with peers and customer enabling resolution of problem to achieve organization goals
• Customer handling, communication and traveling exposure
• Root cause analysis skills
• Inter Personnel soft spoken skills
• Frequent traveling with long stays
