The Role
As our next Customer Connections Specialist, you’ll provide a central point of contact for customers, retailers and service providers requiring a new electricity supply, gas supply or distributed generation.
You’ll carry out assessments for requests and manage all queries, issues and follow-ups throughout their life cycle. This includes operating within a technical and regulated environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and processes.
You’ll act as a key liaison between customers and technical teams, explaining requirements and constraints clearly and professionally. Handling complex, complaint-driven queries with empathy and accuracy will be a key part of your role.
Expect a mix of planned work (around 80% administration) and unplanned work (around 20% customer calls), so adaptability and prioritization skills are key.
Progression opportunities: This role offers exposure to electricity, gas and distributed generation, creating pathways into contracts, delivery, control room, gas operations or even capital projects. We invest in cross-training so you’ll build a broad skill set that opens doors across Vector.
The team: You’ll join a collaborative team that values curiosity, learning and supporting each other. While some team members have been here for years, others bring fresh perspectives from diverse backgrounds like energy, telco and even creative industries.
Who Are We Looking For?
A track record of providing an exceptional customer experience, ideally with external customer complaint resolution. Experience within a regulated or standards-driven industry would be highly advantageous.
You’ll be working in a highly regulated environment where compliance and accuracy are critical. This means following strict processes while maintaining a positive customer experience.
We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of issues, seeks answers proactively and ensures first-call resolution wherever possible.
Previous administrative or coordinator experience with strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
You’ll use multiple systems daily, including SAP, Siebel, GIS and council mapping tools, so confidence with technology and attention to detail are essential.
Great communication skills, both written and verbal, with a calm and professional demeanour.
Curiosity to learn technical information and communicate it in simple terms.
