Job Summary
Varthana is looking for a Database Administrator who will be driving strategic thought around how database implementation, maintenance, and data reporting will provide the essential intelligence and insight to fuel Varthana's future growth. The candidate should understand how the technology fits into the context of other technical abilities, customer needs, business impact, and corporate strategy. The incumbent will also be monitoring the functional and technical aspects of the project and supporting all project modules.
Key Role Deliverables
● Database Management:
○ Supporting and maintaining data and database systems to meet business delivery specifications and needs
○ Understanding data links throughout the database and optimizing database performance for tables
○ Creating automatic reports based on data in the database that meet the needs of various Varthana departments
○ Writing UNIX scripts to perform scheduled batch processes across databases as part of routine maintenance tasks
○ Preparing management reports on demand and in response to requirements
● Planning & Implementing techniques:
○ Designing and implementing the solution that follows efficient designing techniques and development that meets and exceeds the intent of the data solution
○ implementing new databases in line with Varthana's expanding application space
○ Creating, developing, and implementing data solutions, including planning the architecture, producing proof-of-concept prototypes, creating standards, creating test plans, designing code and modules, developing and testing them, and debugging the solutions
● Relationship Management:
○ Managing day-to-day tasks /activities in coordination with a team of developers to effectively meet the deliverables
○ Providing assistance to different business and technology teams as required during the design, development, and delivery phases to ensure sound, scalable, and reliable solutions
