We’re Hiring – Multiple Administration Roles
Strait Link | Port Melbourne
Strait Link is currently recruiting for three Administration positions to support our Port Melbourne logistics operations:
Data Entry Clerk – 12‑month contract
Administration Assistant – 12‑month contract
Administration Assistant – Full‑time permanent
These roles are ideal for organised, detail‑focused administrators who enjoy supporting operational teams, processing information accurately, and being a key point of contact in a fast‑paced environment.
About the Roles
Our Administration and Data Entry team plays a critical role in keeping our transport and warehouse operations running smoothly. Working closely with depot teams, drivers, customers and management, you’ll provide day‑to‑day administrative and data support across multiple functions of the business.
Depending on the role, responsibilities may focus more heavily on data entry or general administration, however all positions require strong attention to detail, reliability and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Administration & Data Entry
Accurate data entry of freight, transport and operational information
Processing and maintaining freight documentation including manifests, consignment notes, run sheets and delivery paperwork
Maintaining accurate records across internal systems (e.g. CBS, D365, Tollworks or similar)
Filing, scanning and document control to meet audit and compliance requirements
Generating basic reports, summaries and listings as required
Operational & Team Support
Providing administrative support to transport, fleet, yard and warehouse teams
Coordinating daily administrative tasks to support smooth operations
Assisting with general depot administration and ad‑hoc support during peak periods
Supporting onboarding and leave coverage across the administration function
Communication & Customer Support
Acting as a first point of contact for internal and external enquiries
Liaising with drivers, subcontractors and internal teams to assist information flow
Responding to customer enquiries and providing basic operational updates
Preparing correspondence and routine communications
Compliance & Safety Support
Assisting with WHS, Chain of Responsibility and Dangerous Goods administration
Supporting incident reporting and maintaining compliance registers
Ensuring procedures are followed and documentation standards are followed
Desired Skills and Experience
What we’re looking for
Essential
Experience in an administrative, coordination or support role
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Excellent organisation, attention to detail and document management skills
Clear, professional written and verbal communication
Reliable, adaptable and comfortable working both independently and in a team
Desirable
Experience in logistics, transport, warehousing or freight
Familiarity with CBS, container control systems or ERP platforms (e.g. D365, SAP)
Understanding of Chain of Responsibility and safety compliance
