About the role:
Skills SA is the steward of South Australia's funded vocational education and training (VET) system, driving successful outcomes for individuals, the economy, and the wider community. It provides policy leadership for the South Australian VET sector by objectively assessing skill needs and strategically managing public investment to maximize skills development.
Working as part of the Analytics and Information Systems team, as the Data Management Team Leader, you will lead a high-performing team that ensures the integrity, compliance, and strategic use of VET data to inform decision-making and policy development across the state.
More specifically, you will:
Lead a team delivering high-quality client service and administrative support to internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee data analysis and reporting, applying advanced techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with AVETMISS and national VET reporting obligations.
Provide expert advice on system administration, user access, and data governance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance data quality.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives informed by client feedback and strategic priorities.

Strong expertise in data analysis, evaluation methodologies, and governance frameworks.
Proven experience managing teams and delivering high-quality, data-driven insights.
Knowledge of compliance requirements and best practices in data integrity and security.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Remuneration:
Competitive salary will be offered as $+8, 478 to $104,165 pa plus superannuation

Essential: Tertiary qualifications, or related experience, in relevant discipline.

Special Conditions:
This position will be offered as a full-time contract up to 2 years.
A Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) and Working with Children Check will be required prior to employment.
