sound experience 3-5 Years of following Installing, configuring, and managing MS SQL Server 2014, 2016 and SQL Server 201+ databases
Experience in database administration Support and Administer database instances effectively
Performing basic tasks related to performance tuning, backup, recovery and high availability.
Resolve simple to moderate (P2 and P3) incidents and problems effectively in a timely manner
Providing 24X7 production support
Contribute to performing root cause analysis Responsible for implementation of small to medium components of a project module
Working in a cross-cultural team and communicate effectively SQL Server database administration on 2014 / 2016 / 201+
Basic knowledge of Windows OS and its related commands
Basic knowledge of TSQL and query tuning
Good at basic trouble shooting , pro active monitoring, backup, restore or recovery
Good to have exposure on high availability features like Mirroring, replication and clustering
Good analytical skills
Flexible to work in shifts
Good team player and willingness to explore and learn new areas and technologies.
Monitor system's health and performance
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
Job Requirements Details :
IT Engineer, with 3+ years on SQL Server2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 ,201+ and 2026.
Experience in installing different SQL server versions as per customer requirement.
Experience in Upgrading and Migrating databases from lower to higher versions.
Knowledge on Windows cluster will be plus and Experience in MSSQL cluster environments (Active-Active or Active-Passive)
Supported SQL Server on Linux Windows both migrations and on-going support.
Experience in handling HADR environments (Log Shipping, Replication CDC, Mirroring and AOAG)
Skilled in Backups & Disaster Recovery.
Knowledge on Backup tools (Ex : CommVault, Semantic NetBackup, LiteSpeed) will be plus.
Strong experience in Automating DB tasks, Health checks, blocking, disk space, Maintenance tasks etc.
Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks etc.)
Experience in PowerShell scripting automation will be plus.
Experience in implementing operational automation.
24 X 7 production support experience.
Be available for on-call support as needed.
Working knowledge in T-SQL, BCP, DTS and SSIS development.
Any cloud Architecture certification is preferable.
Knowledge and Hands-on expertise on Oracle, Postgre SQL, My SQL and Mongo DB would be additional value addition.
Worked in Managed Service Providers or supported multiple customers.
MCTS, MCITP, and / or MVP certifications a plus.
