Database Administrator Role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage and maintain Exacta Databases on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This individual will have deep expertise in multitenant architecture, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and advanced database security. The successful candidate will be responsible for database performance, high availability, backup and recovery, and automation of DBA tasks using modern scripting tools.
Main Responsibilities:
• Administer and manage Exacta Databases on OCI, including multitenant architecture and RAC
• Implement and maintain Data Guard and RMAN for robust backup and recovery strategies
• Migrate databases to Exacta on OCI infrastructure efficiently and securely
• Utilize Rubrik in combination with RMAN for enhanced backup solutions
• Optimize Exadata database performance and ensure high availability
• Manage large databases with advanced techniques like compression and partitioning
• Monitor and tune database performance, perform proactive health checks, and analyze trace files
• Automate DBA tasks using Ansible, Shell, Perl, or Python
• Use OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) for database monitoring and administration
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA
• Expertise in OCI, Exadata, RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN
• Solid experience in Exacta database management and migrations
• Strong scripting skills using Ansible, Shell, Perl, or Python
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools such as OEM
• Knowledge of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and modern DevOps methodologies is a plus
• Excellent communication, documentation, problem-solving, and project management skills
