Job Description
Database Administration
a. Installation/re-installation/upgradation of all the databases
b. Creating databases, maintenance of databases for testing, development and production usage.
c. End-to-end management of databases on ongoing basis to ensure smooth functioning
d. Performing database starting, shutdown, handling critical database errors and troubleshooting, resolution of errors, database crash recovery is part of the DBA services
e. Creation of standard operating procedures and adherence to SOP
f. Database growth monitoring and reporting
g. Administration of all database objects, tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures
h. Purging at regular intervals
i. Server Resource monitoring and reporting
j. Monitoring and identifying the spikes
k. Analysis of violation of threshold utilization and action points to resolve them
l. Monitoring inconsistence behaviour of database processes.
Database scheduled jobs and monitoring of these jobs
n. Enabling and disabling database auditing tools as per requirement
o. Database management system hardening as per the security policy of RBI/IPPB/DOP
p. Support for User management including user creation, maintenance of user profiles, granting user access and authorization including roles and responsibilities.
q. Password management
r. Backup management.
s. Logging Case with OEM and Vendor for Priority one issues and keep track of the same till the resolution.
t. RCA to be provided for P1 Tickets
u. Daily Utilization/AWR reports to be provided to bank.
v. Performance tuning of database in case of repeated identified issues and upgrade the database in-case declared EOS by respective OEM.
w. Migrate the database to new hardware in case underlying infra declared EOL/EOS.
x. Quarterly reporting and maintenance of License/inventory management
y. Table partition as per the application and business requirement.
z. Integration of BCP Disaster Recovery Management tool. The tool has to be provisioned by IPPB.
