JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Responsible for maintenance and "bug fix" activities for existing database infrastructure and equipment. Undertake research into new or alternative technologies and make recommendations for upgrades or changes to the database infrastructure environment. Responsible for installation of new database infrastructure and equipment and monitoring its stability. Undertake thorough impact analysis of all assigned database infrastructure activities and understand the impact of work on database infrastructure systems and the business. Respond to issues and support calls in-line with relevant procedures, including security. Resolve performance issues with an emphasis on root cause identification. Perform tests of upgrades and new database infrastructure and equipment. Monitor database operations and support maintenance activities efficiently in order to ensure minimal issues and incidents. Install new or upgrade database infrastructure equipment. Perform other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
• 2 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.
• Also required is 2 years of experience in: Using Bash and Python; developing applications to help process customer requests using SQL; constructing complex queries in SQL using different joins, sub queries, and nested queries; and fine-tune long-running queries for efficient data retrieval.
• Employee reports to ThreatMetrix Inc. office in San Jose, CA, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.
• Experience can be concurrent.
SALARY RANGE:
• $110,000.00 to $150,000.00/year
