Job Description
Relevant Skills: MySQL and PgSQL administration, SQL scripting and Optimization
We are looking for an experienced MySQL/PostgreSQL database administrator who will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of database instances. The incumbent will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances. Candidate will also work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.
Responsibilities
Managing large scale databases.
Solid understanding of internal database architecture along with demonstrated experience with database design, implementation, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with backup and recovery strategies.
Hands on experience with designing and implementing database replication strategies.
Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary.
Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices of MySQL/PostgreSQL.
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
Familiarity with other SQL / NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Elastic Search etc.
Experience with database migration.
Well versed with Linux operating system.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities
