Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team at Interface Recruitment UK. As a key member of our technology department, you will be responsible for the administration, support, and strategic guidance of our enterprise-grade online platform.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in database administration, with a strong background in MySQL and cloud migration. You will work closely with our development team to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our database systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Reviewing and suggesting DDL for new features in line with SQL coding standards and best database performance.
• Advising development teams on possible implementations for new features at the planning stage.
• Configuring database credentials in dev, staging, and production platforms for applications and providing database credentials to the devops team.
• Tracking Data Analyst requests for GDPR sensitive data, seeking authorisation where necessary.
• FOLLOWING A CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT GOAL TO KEEP ALL DATABASE SYSTEMS AS UP TO DATE AS POSSIBLE THROUGH RESEARCHING CHANGES IN NEW VERSIONS, TESTING NEW VERSIONS WITH THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM AND PROPOSING/ACTIONING LIVE UPGRADE PLANS.
Essential Competencies/Skills and Experiences for the Role:
• Ideally Oracle Certified Professional OCP (MySQL 5.7 Database Administrator) or equivalent.
• Ability to optimise and suggest alternatives to MySQL queries.
