Summary Description
• Should have strong database design, modeling skills and very strong knowledge of DB Architecture
• Should be strong in database internal, PL/SQL development, performance tuning and Database design
• Candidate should have Exposure to database modeling tool like Erwin
• Candidate should have strong OLTP, data warehousing design and development skills
• Candidate must have working knowledge of Databases like PostgreSQL and AWS Redshift
• Exposure to cloud technologies like AWS is must. An AWS certified candidate is preferred.
• Good scripting Knowledge using Shell scripting or Python
• Candidate should be able work and communicate with the project/business stakeholders
• Hands on experience in leading and owning the responsibilities of a single or multiple projects
• Good exposure to the system design, system integration, project planning and estimation techniques
• Communicate effectively in verbal & written communications
• Be proactive in identifying and communicating the risks
• Collaborate and communicate well with the internal and global teams as required
• Should be a quick learner and new tech savvy
• Investment banking domain experience is plus
Job Responsibilities
• Be an integral part of Database Engineering CoE
• The candidate would be primarily responsible to work with various application teams on Oracle, PostgresSQL and Redshift DB technologies. This includes performance tuning, database design & modeling, PL/SQL development and Production issue.
• The candidate will also be involved in enterprise level database design and modeling work
• Candidate will be involved into PL/SQL development for high demand Datawarehouse/OLTP/OLAP applications
• Candidate will also work with DBA, Infra and app teams on Database migration and Upgrade tasks
• Hands-on experience in developing and managing enterprise-wide BI Development encompassing Database Design, Data warehousing, ETL, BI Development working with cross-functional teams.
• Should be able to debug application code and tune it written in DB platform like PostgresSQL, AWS Redshift for high demand OLTP/OLAP applications.
• Candidate will be involved in Scripting using Shell scripting, Python
• Coordinate with all the stakeholders to understand the requirement and develop applications with strong focus on performance.
• Provide the required technical guidance & support to the team
• Ability to handle and deliver multiple small to medium projects under difficult situations and tight deadline
• Good exposure to the system design, system integration, project planning and estimation techniques
• Positive attitude, real passion for strong work ethic, ability to execute independently yet also maintain a strong team orientation
• Strong analytic, debugging, problem solving and collaborative skills
Experience / Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with around 10+ years of expertise in Database technologies
• Excellent knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL development, PostgreSQL development, AWS Redshift development, Database design, modelling (Logical and Physical) and performance tuning
• Very strong in writing advance SQL Queries, Performance tuning and Database design
• Exposure to Other Databases like Sybase, SQL-server, is an added advantage
• Experience in cloud technology preferably AWS
• Sound experience in development and support areas in a large-scale world-class application especially in the Finance Industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to liaise with all the stake holder
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• High standard of quality, attention to detail and organizational aptitude.
• Willingness to learn new technical and finance skills.
• Desire and ability to learn quickly
• Knowledge of Capital markets/Asset Classes is an added advantage.
