About Your Team
Security Data Warehouse (SDW) team is responsible for extracting Insights & Actions from Data for our Cyber Security team. There are multiple security controls, maintained by many tools, which generates ironums amount of data. Providing an actionable insights to our wider internal teams help them take necessary steps faster which improves the security posture which ultimetly improves the customer experience and trust for FIL. We provide Data Solutions for dynamic cyber security environment.
About Your Role
The position is in the global cybersecurity & Information security (GCIS) within broader Technology function. Fundamental purpose of this role is use of ‘data’ to derive ‘actionable insight’. The role involves implementing Data pipelines to on-board new datasets and Reporting into Security Data Warehouse. Skills required for this role is candidate must have strong TSQL stored procedure, ETL (SSIS) and Performance Tuning knowledge on MS SQL Database platform along with hands-on experience on reporting tools such as PowerBI. The candidate should have core skills of Windows, UNIX scripting and Rest API. In addition, hands-on experience with ETL techniques, Python, PowerBI, Job Scheduling, CICD with DataOps would be a plus. The successful candidate will be responsible for development and support of the Security Data Warehouse. The candidate is expected to display professional ethics in their approach to work and exhibit a high-level ownership within a demanding working environment.
This role is responsible for development & maintenance of Data pipelines, data warehouse and reporting. This role engages across all engineering & support teams with the ability to communicate with senior level employees as well as technical product & service owners and be able to work across all levels. Understanding business requirement from different stakeholders, discuss solution approach with team members, and implement the design. This role demands person must be a good collaborator. Some key responsibilities for this role are:
• Deliver - efficiently:
• Providing key technical solutions for database development to onboard new datasets in Security Data Warehouse applications (Principal technologies / applications used include MS SQL, Python, Control-M, Window and UNIX).
• Must be a Collaborator working in the team alongside data analysts, business analysts, database administrators and business project teams in understanding and developing the solutions.
• Conduct data analysis, data modelling, database design and Performance Tuning (well versed with analysing query plans) for MS SQL Databases.
• Good to have DevOps, CICD pipeline, artifact knowledge on any release tool.
• Help in research and solve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
• Help identify any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.
• Evaluate existing database and recommend improvements for performance efficiency.
• Provide support to develop best practices for database design and development activities.
• Apply Data Warehousing/ETL concepts in development.
• Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support development.
• Develop database tables and dictionaries.
• Ensure data quality and integrity in databases.
• Data read/write using API.
• Data Preparation & Migration (Python, ETL, SQL, Adv. Excel)
• Data Analysis and Visualization (Power BI, Python, Adv. Excel)
• Create and maintain high quality dashboards.
• Manage Power BI workspace and perform dashboard health checks.
• Keep documentation up to date.
• Understand the requirement and develop solution options.
• Engage - productively:
• With stakeholders for intelligence gathering, information sharing and increasing awareness about best practices.
• Work with the consumers of data / reports for continual improvement and inclusion of feedback.
• Engage with Team and share the Success and letdowns.
• Highlight blockers proactively.
• Guide peers in team with their technical expertise.
About You
Must Have:
• Graduate from reputed institute with 4-7 years of experience and progressive working knowledge of Data analysis, ETL techniques, Data Warehouse and BI technologies
• In-depth knowledge of Database Development and Product Support
• Should have core skills of ETL (SSIS) Development/Deployment and Data Onboarding using API via Python.
• In-depth knowledge of TSQL, able to create complex SQL queries to summarize huge datasets.
• Sound knowledge on any programming language to manage database loading/unloading related tasks.
• Hands-on experience
• with scheduling tools
• with Data modelling tools, Database Mail, Linked Server, Slowly Changing Dimension, Database Access Control Implementation, and periodic reviews.
• Strong in Data Warehouse and ODS concepts
• Experience of working as a data analyst preferably within Technology/IT Security
• Extensive Data Analysis and BI experience in developing dashboard and reporting.
• Design and implement complex data models and pipeline.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform would be a plus.
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-learning, self-exploring problem-solving attitude.
Good to have:
• Azure/AWS working knowledge and have worked in at least one client project with Snowflake as Database (SnowPro Certified has added advantage)
• Migration Exp of MS SQL to Azure/Snowflake (DB and ETL)
• any DevOps Tool like Jenkin, BitBucket/Git
• Working knowledge and experience on any release Tool and JIRA
• Knowledge and experience in Data analysis using Python.
• Creating and using Rest API
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimum supervision.
• Tech knowledge on Snowflake will be plus.
Domain Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Investment Banking and Cyber Security Domain has added advantage.
