Role: Database Engineer
Desired Experience Range: 5+ years
Location of Requirement: Hyderabad
Must-Have:
Tech Profile/Essential Skills
• Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in database engineering, particularly with Snowflake.
• Power BI and Data Analytics: Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Experience in developing complex data models for Power BI and proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query.
• Familiarity with Power BI administration and workspace management.
• Proven Expertise with Snowflake: Hands-on experience with Snowflake’s features such as data sharing, snow pipes, stored procedures, and micro-partitions.
• Database Management Skills: Proficient in database administration, performance tuning, query optimization, and data modeling.
• SQL Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SQL, including complex query writing and optimization.
• Cloud Services Proficiency: Experience with cloud computing services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and understanding how they integrate with Snowflake.
• Data Warehousing: In-depth knowledge of data warehousing principles and hands-on experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Scripting and Programming: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript, particularly in the context of database manipulation and automation.
• API Development Experience: Proven experience in developing RESTful and SOAP APIs.
Education and Professional Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of finding solutions to complex technical challenges.
• Proven ability to understand and develop concept driven solutions and problems.
Detailed Responsibilities
• Maintain and optimize Snowflake databases to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Prioritize all dashboard and database related incidents.
• Handling a diverse array of technical, compliance-related issues associated to the platfo rm and will be expected to work,
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve database, orchestration, and reporting – Snowflake, PowerBI, ServiceNOW related issues.
• Develop control automation platform database / reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance control automation platforms, working effectively with technical resources (DBA, developers).
• Design and implement database schemas, queries, and store procedures, providing support for database design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines for efficient data flow and storage.
• Implement security measures to safeguard database integrity and sensitive information.
• Participate in the planning and development of future phases of the control automation platform.
• Understand and use JIRA – including how to update, escalate and resolve incidents.
• Report software issues to the Cyber Security and Cloud Data Cloud / Snowflake Team via documented processes and procedures, including replicating the issue when possible and performing all due diligence.
• Identify common issues and resolutions for addition to Knowledge Base.
• Create process flows and key documentation around operational procedures.
• Engineer solutions and define tasks for effective and timely operational monitoring, support, change and recovery.
• Demand Management - Work to understand divisional risk champions' business needs above and beyond the immediate requirements.
