Job Description
Our direct client – who is a leading IT Consulting firm based in Malaysia is looking to hire Database Modernization Consultants to work ONSITE in their Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office.
This is a direct contract, initially + months with huge possibility to be extended.
We are open to accommodate candidates who are willing to relocate in Malaysia and can start immediately or at least within 1 month.
As the part of the team, you will:
• Assess, plan, and execute homogenous and heterogenous (MsSQL à PostGres) database conversion & migration into the Cloud.
• Advise Cloud Consultant on database architecture patterns and dependencies to build high level design architecture.
• Conduct conversion of stored procedures to-be supported on PostgreSQL from MsSQL
• Execute database conversion & migration methods to ensure target database works on designated schema/type.
• Collaborate with the .NET consultant to ensure application to database integration is met upon migration/modernization.
• Coordinate with COTS vendors on database migration and integration.
• Perform database testing with system owners & COTS vendors (if applicable) to ensure working app functionality.
• Execute database migration cutovers with minimal downtime and business impacts.
• Provide frequent and pro-active updates to SCRUM members to highlight progress/risks/impediments
• Provide post go-live support after migration cutovers.
What are they looking for? Ideal candidates must have below experience:
• Development work experience in SQL Server and PostgreSQL DB
• Experience in heterogeneous DB migration from SQL Server to PostgreSQL
• AWS RDS
• SSIS - nice to have
