This role will be based at our Delrow Community in Watford.


Duties & Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:

Your first responsibility will be to provide the people we support the opportunity to learn skills in such things as drama, music, arts and crafts including textile weaving, felt-making, needlecraft and pottery, social farming, running a cafe and food preparation.
You’ll help support the individuals and workshops through effective planning, utilising, and developing existing skills, generation of creative ideas and being able to do so using a person- centred approach.
You’ll adapt a creative, flexible way of working with the promotion of inclusion and individuality, and to celebrate achievement using a person-centred approach.
You’ll be aware of your environment with due notice given to recycling, reduction of waste and ensuring equipment is both working safely and effectively.
You may be required to perform duties other than those given in this job description. The specific duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time.
Supporting within the guidance of health and safety, manual handling, accident reporting and fire regulations.
Attending mandatory training and be willing to attend supervision, team meetings, events, festivals and other community events.
Working alongside the extended community including care & support, office staff and management teams.

Education & Qualifications

Essential

Good level of standard education.
Good IT knowledge.
Experience & Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge of creative and artistic techniques in such activities as drama, music, arts and crafts including textile weaving, felt-making, needlecraft and pottery.
Proven ability to be honest, dependable and dedicated to your role.
Ability to write in a legible manner, keep records and write clear accounts of your work/ incident reports etc.
Empower others and help them achieve personal learning and development targets.
Focused on results and quality.
A calm, person orientated approach with a flexible mindset and the ability to take and give direction from and to others.
Good social and oral communication skills.
Able to motivate and organise self and others.
Flexible, with good problem-solving skills.

Desirable

Experience of teaching or delivering group activities.
Previous experience of supporting vulnerable people, ideally with adults with learning disabilities and mental health conditions.
Working knowledge of health & safety and first aid.
