Daycamp Leader – Summer position

Marpole Neighbourhood House (MNH) is currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, responsible and energetic individual who is passionate about providing engaging recreational activities for children ages 5-12.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Research, plan and implement daily recreation, education, creative and social activities for children aged 5-12
Work collaboratively with the team to lead daily activities to groups of children
Assists in setup and cleanup of program space
Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the children
Assist Youth Programmer to supervise and mentor youth volunteers
Skills and Qualifications:
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs and to be eligible, you must be:
between 15 to 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
Education in recreation, kinesiology or related field an asset
Relevant experience volunteering or working with school aged children
Ability to work as part of a team
First Aid and Food Safe certified are strong assets
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Enjoys working with children in a diverse and inclusive setting
Employment Terms:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm 7 hours per day & 35 hours per week
Start Date: July 7, 2026
End Date: August 2+, 2026
Salary: $1+.70 plus 4% in lieu benefits
Job Type: Full Time Contract Term Position
