Job Description
Duties
Supervise daily classroom activities, ensuring they align with developmental goals and safety standards, FLIGHT curriculum
Assist a director with coordinating staff schedules
Assist a director with maintaing accurate records and documentation for staff and children.
Work on the raito on the floor daily
When a staff is absent, being on the ratio
Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, documentation standards, and organizational policies at all times
Lead and support a team of teachers, caregivers, practicum students and assistants to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education
Oversee child engagement, behavior management, and individualized care plans for children with diverse needs.
Maintain a safe environment by enforcing health protocols, conducting safety inspections, and responding promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when necessary. Support health, safety, and supervision standards at all times
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns
Qualifications & Requirements
Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Level 2/Level 3 (Supervisor/Director) certification
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a licensed childcare setting
Strong knowledge of Alberta childcare regulations and FLIGHT curriculum frameworks
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Valid First Aid & CPR (Childcare Level)
Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Skills
Strong classroom management skills coupled with the ability to lead a team effectively
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Knowledge of Early Learning Child Care Act and Regulations.
First aid certification and ability to respond confidently in emergency situations
Experience with behavior management strategies tailored to young children
Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, staff, and community partners
Ability to help staff in organizing daily activities for children while ensuring safety and inclusivity
This is not an office/desk job. You must be pro-active on the floor all the time.
The work shift will be 9am-6pm.
