Job Summary:
The Daycare Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, maintaining open communication with parents and staff, and ensuring the overall well-being and development of each child in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Design and implement daily lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and aligned with the daycare’s educational philosophy.
Child Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining a watchful eye and engaging with them in a positive and encouraging manner.
Activity Facilitation: Lead a variety of activities including storytelling, arts and crafts, games, music, and outdoor play to promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Classroom Management: Create a structured yet flexible classroom environment that encourages positive behavior, cooperation, and respect among children.
Parent Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents regarding their child’s progress, any concerns, and upcoming events through meetings, newsletters, and informal conversations.
Assessment and Reporting: Observe and document children’s progress, behavior, and development, and prepare reports for parents and the daycare director.
Health and Safety: Ensure that the classroom and playground environments are clean, safe, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience working with young children in a daycare or preschool setting.
Skills: Strong understanding of child development principles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in classroom management.
Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required. Other relevant certifications (e.g., CDA) are preferred.
